Ingredients
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips, separated
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 2 t baking powder
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 6 T butter, softened to room temperature
- 2 t vanilla
- 2 eggs, brought to room temperature
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1 ¼ cups chopped walnuts
Directions
Butter and flour a 9” x 13” pan and set it aside.Next, we want to melt some chocolate. Take one cup of the semisweet chips and put it in a small bowl. Microwave it at 15 second intervals, stirring after each one, until the chips are almost melted. Once they’re almost done take the bowl out and stir vigorously until the rest are.
While that cools a bit, put the flour and baking powder into a small bowl and whisk together. Set that aside.
In a large bowl, put the sugar, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs and beat until well blended. Add in the melted chocolate and beat again until well blended. Then, add in the flour/baking powder mixture and beat one final time.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan. FYI, the batter will be kinda thick so you may need to use your fingers to spread it completely around.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out a little wet (they shouldn’t be completely done).
Sprinkle the nuts, marshmallows and remaining 1 cup of chips on top and put the pan back into the oven for another 2-3 minutes. Watch the marshmallow – when they start to melt and get just a little brown, you’re done.
Take the pan out of the oven and cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into pieces and serve!
