Together they’re awesome!
And sometimes together they’re breakfast.
Ingredients
- 3 overripe bananas
- ½ cup butter, brought to room temperature
- 2 eggs, brought to room temperature
- 3 t vanilla
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 ¼ cups flour
- ½ cup dark cocoa powder
- 1 ¼ t baking soda
- ¼ t salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, separated
Directions
Spray or butter and flour a loaf tin and set it aside.
Put the bananas in a large bowl add mash them. Add in the butter, eggs, vanilla and brown sugar, and mix until well combined. Set that aside, too.
In a smaller bowl add the flour, cocoa powder baking soda and salt and whisk until well combined.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to your banana mixture, mixing as you go until everything is well combined.
Add in ¾ cup of the chocolate chips and stir with a wooden spoon until they’re evenly distributed in the batter.
Pour your batter into your prepared pan and sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup chips evenly along the top.
Bake at 350 for about 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out dry.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice into slices, serve and enjoy! And remember, since there are bananas in here this counts as healthy.
