Ingredients
- 2 T cup sugar
- 1 ½ t cinnamon
- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 t baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup butter, brought to room temperature
- 2 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 T vanilla
- 2 eggs, brought to room temperature
- 10 oz. (1 bag) cinnamon chips
- ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon and set aside. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt and set that aside as well.
Don’t set either too far – you’ll need ‘em shortly.
Next, get a large bowl and mix together the butter, brown sugar and vanilla until fluffy, figure a couple minutes. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating continuously.
Go get your bowl of dry ingredients and slowly add that to the wet ingredients, mixing as you go until everything is well combined.
Add in your cinnamon and semisweet chips and stir (don’t mix) until well distributed.
Butter and flour (or spray) a 13” x 9” baking dish and spread your batter evenly in it.
And finally, get your cinnamon sugar mix and sprinkle that evenly over the batter. Feel free to sprinkle a few cinnamon and/or chocolate chips over the top as well if you’re so inclined. Because there’s nothing wrong with going over the top.
Bake at 350 for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Move the baking dish to a wire rack to cool completely, then cut up and enjoy.
Sometimes it’s really nice to find something in the back of the cabinet!
