But they make great cookies and one of my favorites is called the Pokie. It’s really just a chocolate chip cookie that has chocolate chips and m&ms, but they are soooo good. So I decided to make some for myself. Mine are a bit smaller than the ones they make…but yours don’t have to be.
Ingredients
- 1 1/8 c flour
- ½ t baking soda
- ½ t salt
- ½ cup butter, softened to room temperature
- 6 T cup granulated sugar
- 6 T cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 t vanilla
- 3/4 cup, semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup m&ms
Directions
Whisk together all the dry ingredients – from the flour to the brown sugar. Next add in the butter, egg and vanilla and mix again until everything is well blended. Finally, add in the chips and m&ms and stir with a wooden spoon until they’re evenly distributed.
Refrigerate the dough for about an hour.
When you’re ready to bake, roll the dough into balls of dough slightly larger than a golf ball. Place the dough onto cookie sheets lined with parchment paper, 3 to a sheet. Bake at 350 for about 8 minutes, or until they get that nice golden brown color.
Let them cool on the pan for a couple minutes then move them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 12-15 Pokies.
